Hello,
I just found this site this morning. I hope this will help me. I really don't know much about computers.
I have learned only by clicks and opening things. So my ? is, I switched to a new internet provider, and I wonder if removing all of AOL from my computer would help it run faster. Would it help? My computer is running at 65% free right now. If you could help me out I would be so thankful.

Hello and welcome to GeeksToGo. :tazz: AOL certainly will slow down your computer, but it shouldn't bog you down quite that much. I'd like to take a look at what else may be running on that computer, as well as whether or not you have any Malware on that system.

Would you mind posting a HijackThis log in this thread for us to look at?

To post a HijackThis log:

Download

Save HijackThis in its own folder (i.e. C:\HJT). DO NOT run it from within a zip manager (Winzip), as no backups will be saved.

o start the scan, Click the Scan button on the left. The Scan Button has a new Caption. Save Log. Click the Save Log button to create a file named Hijackthis.log. A dialog box will pop up. Use it to select the location where you will save the log. Close the program.

Return to the Forum and reply to this post. Open the Log in Notepad. Highlight the entire contents. Copy and paste the contents of the HijackThis log into your post.

You *do* have some malware on that computer. Please begin a new topic in the Malware forum, and one of our Staff members will be happy to help you clear it out. In the new topic, please paste your HijackThis log in, and DONT reply to the topic unti lafter a Staff member does. "bumping" it will cause it to get overlooked on accident, b/c the Staff will think someone is already helping you. :tazz:
