when shut down, WIdows screen and icon (full screen saying "Windows is shutting down" is garbled. when start up, get a "Windows Protection Error" and system says start in "Safe". Starting in "Normal" gives"Windows not fully loaded" message.
Spy-Bot says system clean, McAfee VS Pro 7.0 says system is clean.

Welcome to Geeks to Go! :tazz:

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Admanager Controller] C:\PROGRAM FILES\ADMANAGER CONTROLLER\ADMANCTL.EXE

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):
C:\PROGRAM FILES\ADMANAGER CONTROLLER\ADMANCTL.EXE

Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. ;)

Please excuse my error. I posted a reply to "Coachwife6" and saw note to post as new in HijackThis forum. "Coachwife6" provided me with exact same fix and that worked. I provided second HijackThis log as she requested.

system runs well but Windows screen is still scrambled on shut down. living with that.

Thank you.
