I have narrowed my noise problem down to the fan on my video card. I want to remove it, but I am afraid of the heat and what it would do to the card. However, I never play games on my computer but watch DVD's and TV once in a while, and run dual monitors. So, is this still too much stress on the card where I should not remove the fan?

Thanks for the help,
Jared

Yes, defintly DO NOT remove the fan. Look if it possible that your 5500 can support a "Heat Sink", if you can then change it with that.

Cool :tazz:

Hey Agent Smith:

Thanks so much for the input... I'm one of those people that can't stand extra noise, especially when trying to watch a movie, so I've been looking in to water cooling (mostly because the Thermaltake Aquarius and Rocket look really cool) ...but useless since I'm not overclocking this system. About the heat sink, I doubt it considering that the card is not a higher end one and is for small use.

Thanks again,
Jared
