Windows 98 se normal start up

System Configuration :-

Pentium MMX 233 MHz
Creative Graphics Extremme Blaster graphic drivers
LG Green monitor
HCL Busybee CPU

Problem description :-
When i start my system to boot up it normally boots up
and after displaying Wndows 98 startup screen it shows Black screen
and hangs

Then I have switched over to selective startup mode using MSConfig utility
and then disabled the line under SYSTEM.INI
[boot]
display.drv=pnpdrvr.drv
after this my system is working smoothly
but i am not ble tho switch my display mode
from
640 by 480 16 colors
to any mode higher than it

I have tried to reinstall my graphic driver and display card it is of no use
and have same problem continued..

what i should do? please reply as fast as you can..
