I had a friend watch my house over Christmas and used my computer to download all kinds of stuff. Lots of games and some p***, most I was able to remove but one I just can not seem to get rid of. I delete the files but they some how reappear everytime I restart my computer, it even puts a new shortcut on my desktop everyday that says XXX with a smiling girl! Also it trys to dialup or something and charge my phone bill but it always just says error. I went through your help menu and downloaded and ran everything and did the HiJackThis log to, I'll paste it below.

Can anyone please help me get rid of this woman! My daughter uses this computer too and it is just terrible!

1) About:Buster - Download it and extract it to C:/aboutbuster.
2) CleanUp! - Download it and install it.
3) CWShredder 2.11 - Download it and save it to your desktop.
4) Ad-Aware - Download, install, and update.

During the fix do NOT connect to the internet. Unless you can memorize these instructions, it would be a good idea to print them out.

Boot into safe mode:
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Run AboutBuster
-Click Start to begin the process
-Click OK on the Buster Report dialogue box to start the scan
AboutBuster scans the computer for malicious files and deletes them.
Save the report (copy and paste into Notepad and save as a .txt file) to post a copy for review.

Run CWShredder
-Next, click on the: ‘Fix’ button
-Follow the prompts, and press OK

Run CleanUp
-Make sure it is on Standard Mode
-Click the "CleanUp!" button

Run Ad-Aware
-Configure Ad-Aware for a full system scan
-Run it

Reboot into normal mode (simply restart your computer as you normally would), and run the following free, online virus scans:

Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin
Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

Reboot into normal mode (simply restart your computer as you normally would), and run the following free, online virus scans:

Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin
Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

Thanks so much for your help! I followed your instructions and my computer is much better, I am not getting all the error messages I was before. The p*** lady is still showing up on my desktop though and the dialer still comes up everytime I restart! I can't believe how tough this program is to get rid of.

I forgot to keep the AboutBuster report for review, so sorry, should I run it again?

Any other ideas about where I should go from here?

I fixed all of the others and then went into safe mode and deleted the other files you referred to.

When I rebooted the same girl came up on my desktop and the dialer came up as well. I tried to just delete the files which I can do but when I go into C:\programfiles\\websiteviewer\125189.exe it will not let me delete that file it says...Cannot delete 125189: Access is denied, then when I shut down and reboot all the files I deleted and shortcuts are back.

I tried rebooting in safe mode again and then going in to delete that file and it did finally let me but I am still finding shortcuts and other files with the 125189 or XXX name attached to it.

Thank you again, you guys are awesome, my computer was barely functioning before and now it just has a couple extra files, I really appreciate it!
