windows Xp Sp2

First off all i would like to thank you about your helping 'stuff'
my problem is i have computer with windows xp sp1 i want to update it with SP2
i got New cd For windows xp prof. sp2 and i tried to :
- format my H.d
- remove all USP connection and others(Tv Tuneer,Network adapter)
- install xp sp2 from the cd
Problem:
My computer freezes when repoot and the first progress Bar windows logo stops
i repeat the installation many times but the same problem.
No error message appears.
I siad may the problem from Windows CD , i install xp sp2 in another computer the instalation ok .
After that i tried to install windows xp Sp1 the installation is ok and noe im working with sp1
