hi, I recently received my AOL broadband service and purchased a wireless router (thomson 580) I hsve the network running perfectly sharing printers and files however none of them can connect ot the internet after an hour on the phone with AOL support we established that it was to do with the DHCP. They said that it was corrupt. What can be done to fix this?

I tried Command prompt

Ipconfig/release
ipconfig/renew but the later one did not work it said an error message about dhcp server. What can i do to enable internet access?

Hi,

Well, depending on how you setup your network, it could vary. First thing I am going to have you do is look at these links.

Sharing Broadband - Pratically Networked
Testing TCP/IP - Pratically Networked

DHCP Information - Pratically Networked
That will show you how to setup everything for the DHCP. Now, I don't know the way you setup the router, so there is not much I can do in terms of assigning the IP's, DNS servers, and all that stuff, but hopefully that will help.

Let me know how that helps, if you need any more help, just post and I will do my best to answer.

Good luck!
