Hi,

I have an older Dell Dimension 4100. After loading the IPOD software on the machine and rebooting, I can't get past the "Windows 200 Professional" startup screen. The progress bar at the bottom freezes about half way to completion.

I have tried Safe Mode ... and every other startup mode allowed, but it won't get past this point.

I don't necessarily think the software load had anything to do with the failure.

I had a set of 4 emergency repair floppy disks, but while booting from floppy #4 I got the death blue screen ... something about erroro c0000221 Hard error.

I read something about possible CMOS battery failure but i don't hear any beeps.

ANy other suggestions?

THanks.

this is often the result of a bad or corrupted driver...I do not have an ipod, but I suspect it does load some sort of driver.

Was last known good configuration and option?

Did it fail as well?
