If you have everything but the sound and video drivers, that's fine because you can download those

So if you have your data backed up you can go ahead

Your friend may be able to use Everest to find out what driver he needs

You can get Everest 2.20 (you have 2.0) here

This will give you an idea for XP Home

It will differ only with the graphic which shows Windows did not find a version installed, you will get figure 8 and with the largest partition highlighted you type D then press enter then type L then press enter, then use the default NTFS format, not quick
