I have had this problem before with this computer so i formatted and reintalled windows and things were back to normal for 1 month. Now the problem is back again occasionally the sound and video will get extremely jumpy. In every program.... even the system sounds i reboot and things might go back to normal for a while.
Everything else runs fine except for the sound and video. I have tried all the software fixes and nothing works... so could it be a hardware issue?

My specs:
Asus P4P800 e deluxe (onboard sound)
Pentium IV socket 478 3.0 ghz
2Gigs of RAM
ATI AIW 9800pro
Antec Sonata II with 450 Watt PSU

have you updated your video card drivers?

can you check in system information (start > programs > accessories> system tools) and see what amount of ram is reported?

open task manager and go to the preformance tab....how much memory is listed there?

could y ou give the specs of the ram? (make model size)
