I had some severe spyware issues recently, but those seem to be resolved now. As part of the cleanup process, I changed some XP settings and ran several different spyware removal programs. Ever since, ad banners in websites display error messages stating that the page cannot be displayed rather than the ad itself. NOTE: The websites themselves work fine, only the ads are a problem. Can anyone shed light on what has happened and how to fix it? I have a feeling I changed some Internet setting incorrectly but have no idea how to proceed.

You might have 'Ad Blocking' enabled on your Anti Spam software.
I used Norton and it has an option to enable ad blocking.

What type of firewall /anti spam software are you using?
