New windows for a laptop

Hi,

I got a new lap top, IBM T42, a couple of months ago. I got it at a good price, but it runs the Japanese version of windows Xp. Now I am considering a format with installing the English windows. What should I worry about? Do I need to download drivers before the format? If so, where from?

Check that existing drivers are not specific to Japanese versions

Post the name of any programmes you need software for to see if it is available as a download from the manufacturer's site

Post the make and model of any hardware you need drivers for

Download and install

Everest Home Edition

Run the programme, click + next to computer then summary

Look on right for a list of system components
