Can anybody please tell what problem I have with the above error. Do I need to format my hard drives and start from fresh or is there a way I can save my info. All that comes on my screen is my wireless conection strenght box and MSN messenger icon both in bottom right of the screen. I am working on another computer to ask this question as the other one I can not do anything, not even re-install windows. Please help.

Regards Ian

Welcome to GTG.

Can you boot into Safe Mode at least? If you can, do this:

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Option->View and check 'Show hidden files and folders' and uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files'. Go to your c: drive. Right click on the boot.ini file and go to Properties. Then double click on the boot.ini file to open it. Change the line that says /NoExecute=OptIn and change it to /NoExecute=AlwaysOff. Now save the file and close it.
