BF2 Demo Doesn't Run

I have all the requirements for Battlefield 2 demo but it doesn't run I double click the icon then the screen goes black then the monitor keeps flickering from power save mode to just a black screen. Anyone know why?

My system specs:

AMD Athlon XP 2400+
ASRock K7S8X R3.0
Sapphire Radeon X700 Pro 256mb AGP

Is the resolution on the game set higher than the monitor supports?

nope ive tried to run it at all standard XP defaults and still nothing

I think your CPU doesnt cut it
