CD-ROM not detected in O/S but it does on BIOS and in boots disks.
No viruses, installing SP2
Downloaded driver to reinstall
Device Manager says: Device Driver installed but no Device found

Windows xp home
HP Intel Celeron 2.0GB
256mb of ram
40 GB HDD
64MB graphics card


CD-ROM: Hp cyberdrive cw058d CD-R/RW

Yes it is pluged in

Thanks for the help but I figured out how to fix the problem by going into the registry myself. I did use CDGone program and it didnt work, but it worked on other computers with similar problems. once again I thank you for replying fast.
