This is my first post, so forgive me if I seem somewhat computer illiterate. I recently got DSL internet service and for some reason figured that it would come with it's own spyware. Three weeks and about 15 cases of spyware, adware, and malware later, I decided to fight back. I think through the usage of Spybot, Ad-aware, Spy Sweeper, CW Shredder, and Norton Antivirus, and other software, I have gotten rid of nearly everything, except that when I re-boot and do a scan a few things keep coming back. Also, my internet explorer crashes after about 10 minutes on the internet and I can not get back on. Another strange thing that happens is that I am suddenly seeing things in my Autoexec.bat tab of my msconfig that I haven't seen before (A "BLASTER" setting and a line immediately following). Here is my logfile from HiJack This. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to Geeks to Go! :tazz:

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Download: http://www.mvps.org/.../DelDomains.inf
To use: right-click and select: Install (no need to restart)
Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges" also.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files/folders (if found):

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\boln.dll

Thanks for the quick response. I'll give it a shot and post what happens. One last thing...any advice on the best anti-spyware to keep running in the background? I saw something that said that it's not necessarily a good thing to be running more than one program, and since I was so paranoid about getting another virus, I have Spysweeper, EZ armour, and Norton (which I paid for) all running in the background. Norton seems to be able to find stuff that the others can't find, but I just wanted a second opinion as to whether I should uninstall the others, or if another one is preferable.

You should not run more than one antivirus program at a time. We recommend you run one antivirus program, a firewill, and spywareblaster.

Your advice seems to have cured the pop-ups, but my internet still crashes after about 10 minutes on line and I can get back on line at all...just get the constant "connecting" message on the lower left as it tries to load the page...
