will a windows 32 os run on a 64 system?

i am getting a new computer and want to transfer my windows xp pro. to it. only problem is that it is a 64 bit system, and i am running a 32 bit system right now. any help, suggestions, or something?

yes it will, but you will not see any visible performance gain

and what do you mean by transfer

I'm thinking that I will just install it on the new computer, using the barcode that is on the old one.

Legally, you can transfer a copy of Windows XP retail or upgrade, but an OEM version is not legal to transfer

If you do install a copy or retail or upgrade on your new pc, you must legally remove it from the old pc
