I downloaded Registry Mechanic and scanned my computer.
I then ran optimize registry.
which started running Microsoft Registry Checker.
The computer is now locked up on the checker screen and I
can't reboot. I can get into safe mode but don't know what to do. HELP!

Does the tower have a reset button, if so use that, it will then reboot and show you a blue screen with a yellow progress bar which will scan the disc and load windows

Usually the reset button is directly below the power button

If pressing ctrl + alt + del together repeatedly until the computer beeps, does not happen then press the power button so it goes off

Look on the back of the tower for a power switch as well and if there, switch it off for a minute then switch it back on and press the power button
