Have you checked the other Dr Watson complaints...one of them has a detailed reply about a proccess that worked for a few people. Involves about 3 spyware and virus scans and will hopefully get rid of it for you. Just search dr watson and then keep going throught hem untill you find one witha reply from a computer guy.

Here it is...
You have a nasty About:Blank infection. This fix requires several tools that need to be downloaded. Please download these now, we will run them later.

1) About:Buster - Download it and extract it to C:/aboutbuster.
2) CleanUp! - Download it and install it.
3) CWShredder 2.11 - Download it and save it to your desktop.
4) Ad-Aware - Download, install, and update.

Enable hidden files and folders: http://www.bleepingc...torial=62#winme

During the fix do NOT connect to the internet. Unless you can memorize these instructions, it would be a good idea to print them out.

Boot into safe mode:
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Run AboutBuster
-Click Start to begin the process
-Click OK on the Buster Report dialogue box to start the scan
AboutBuster scans the computer for malicious files and deletes them.
Save the report (copy and paste into Notepad and save as a .txt file) to post a copy for review.

Run CWShredder
-Next, click on the: ‘Fix’ button
-Follow the prompts, and press OK

Run CleanUp
-Make sure it is on Standard Mode
-Click the "CleanUp!" button

Run Ad-Aware
-Configure Ad-Aware for a full system scan
-Run it

Clean Up the left overs

Run HJT, close any open windows, and fix the following items (if they are still there):
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINDOWS\yunou.dll/sp.html#29126
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\yunou.dll/sp.html#29126

http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm
http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp

Then restart your computer one more time and post a new HJT log as well as the About:Buster log I asked you to save earlier.

See the thing is i did all of that already. And i can't run trendmicro, i haven't a clue why. Those hijack this files aren't on my hijack this log. I've searched through other people's problems with DrWtsn, and i've tried most of the stuff, but it just doesn't work. :tazz:

i dunno what's wrong. after trying yet another failed method of gettign it to work, here's my new hijack this log:

I know, im having exactly the same problems. The only thing that worked for me was deleting service pack 2, which got rid of the dr watson problem, but then the internet didnt work properly. I also heard it might be a bug in windows medis 10. Try deleting that first, it will roll back to windows 9. If that doesnt work you can try the deleting service pack 2 thing.

I had the same problem, and it could only be fixed by uninstalling sp2. Is there any way to get sp2 back on my computer without the same thing happening to me again?

I dont know! I installed windows media player 10, cause that was the solution to some other person's drwtsn problem. And the problem went away until i rebooted. Now i have windows media 10 and the drwatson problem. :tazz:

and as for sp2, it does go away without sp2, but then the whole system runs slowly. there must be some other way to get rid of this problem. 'sides, sp2 is supposed to have really important updates and fixes, i think it's better to have it and the drwtsn annoyance than to not have it....

let me know if u guys find anything that works!

Hi,

I have come across this as well on my mum's computer and although I haven't completely fixed it, I'm getting there. It seems to be a problem with Malware and XP sp2, have a look here for more info: http://www.geekstogo...=ST&f=37&t=7045

I have removed SP2 in safe mode and things started working again (and I can now update the virus definitions) so am now getting the latest updates for spybot, cwshredder etc then when I'm sure the system is clean I will reinstall SP2.

Hope this is of some help.

fcuk, u have the same problem as me. and i dont know how to fix it either. try starting up your own thread, and post your hijack this log on it, maybe one of the administrators will help you.

paddyt, let me know if the problem goes away after re-installing sp2! I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it twice already, both times checking for adware/viruses between, and finding the system clean, but the problem won't go away. Maybe i should be using other virus/spyware detection programs. i'm currently using Spyware Doctor and Norton Antivirus. Anyone got any other suggestions?
