Yes Invision Free is Good!! Also you could try Proboards.

As for simply knowing how many people have visited your site and when, you would probably be better off using a counter of some kind. Bravenet services offers Free counters that provide you with Comprehensive Site Statistics including page views, browser usage, operating system used and daily and hourly stats.
