Please open the My Documents folder and click on "Help" then on "Is this copy of Windows legal?". Click the "Validate Now" button. What answer do you receive regarding the Product Key?

Do you want us to give you a round of applause for not pirating (that means stealing)? 
Don't blame your failure to complete your education on having to purchase a "tool of the trade". I mean, would you really trust a tech who stole software? Worse, one that stole software and didn't know how legit XP behaves? I'll bet you spent more on "entertainment" this past year than your XP CD cost. Now, do you have specific question, or should I just close this thread?
