explore.exe failed to open

I have installed and removed spyware and trojans with the my new version of nortens virus 2006. Once done I rebooted my cpu and now only get and error mesg that explore.exe failed to open because it cant find the wininet.dll file. I rebooted in safe mode but only get the dos prompt. not sure how or what to do with it. Any ideas would sure be appreciated. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP I GET. :tazz: not sure where to put this post.

Hi fdtruck! Welcome to G2G!

I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a HiJackThis Log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).

I have done a lot of those things prior to rebooting. I can get nothing going but an error mesg.

Then post a HijackThis log like it says at the end of the START HERE page I posted. Trust me they will be able to help you with your situation.
