a few hours ago when i started surfing my usual forums my web page started blinking on and off. it is like when a smaller window pops up and the one behind it goes gray(the top blue bar does not the whole page) and becomes un usable untill it is the firs page again. well, it kept doing this on and off for a few min till a popup appeared saying i had spywear on my computer (this is a adware page so i didnt click it). i was suprised as i have lots of protection on my computer and i never get popups.

i CTRL-ALT-DELETE and checked what was going on and found no applications being run. i checked my processes and among all the stuff i have no idea about i found one that kept showing up. my CPU usage was up to 90-100% because a process called "iexplore.exe" would pop up on the list and take up about 50+% of the CPU the promptly dissapear. but then it would come back in a second or two. i figured what it it trying to do it make popups with links to virus/other bad things come up but i am assumeing that my computer is blocking them all (hense the reason it comes up then dies) every once in awhile one will get threw tho.

i started my usual panic of (fully updated) devices:

CWShredder
spybot search and distroy
McAfee virus scan
Ad-aware 6.0

McAfee found a virus called "exployte-bytevarafi" (spelling is wrong, it's from memory) and "startpage-DU"

i knew these where here as i have been unsecussful in removing them despite numrus tries. it also changes mt start page in internet explorer to :aboutblank and its a page filled with viruses and the like. since not having been able to remove this i changed my browser to firefox and never had a problem till now.

someone else had this problem too and i tried to follow the steps given to them but it did not work, i couldnt folloe them all as some of the things i had to fix/delete where not there. (http://www.geekstogo...EEXE-t7601.html)

i downloaded and used:
Del Domain
HostsFileReader
hijackthis.exe

i cant let the "iexplore.exe" go as i did with the other one. it keeps removing whatever im doing as the main page and it shifts back and fourth. i had to almost type this letter for letter as it keeps blinking one me (going from main page to not)

i cant use anything on my computer as it is like a thousand popups without a window coming at me. i cant even play my games. i fear a total reformat of my computer more than anything as there are things on here i can not lose.

well.. thats it. i dearly hope somone can help me.
