coachwife6 moved my thread back into the Malware forum and I think I was lost in the shuffle.

I think this is the forum I should be in. Sorry for the confusion :tazz:

Any way, the issue reamins the same.

Here is the exact message:

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair."

This is all I get... When I presss any other button, the computer merely reboots. I tried getting back using safe-mode but no luck.

Thanks for your help in advance.

OSC from malware sent me here.

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A65. All I have is the Recovery disk.

Sorry for the confusion but when combining threads that happens sometimes. I will move that thread back into this forum, but I am closing this one. Please do not start more than one topic. YOu have had three people attending to you this morning. Some people are waiting for one. :tazz:
