Hello all you wonderful experts. It's been a while since I first came here, but am having probs again. I will list them in order of noticing these issues.

1/ Could not access email unless Anti-Virus software turned off. Was previously fine. Phoned my ISP, they were unable to help me. This is still an issue that began around 5 days ago.

2/ Computer behaving oddly and inconsistently. Word hangs occasionally, and even Task Manager and Control panel misbehaving. Prob seems intermittent and unreliable. Shut down is sporadically odd, with "ccApp" and "hpztsb03" not shutting down automatically.

3/ Printer will not work. Have been through entire troubleshooter and nothing has fixed problem. The icon will come up (print job in the cue), nothing happens, and then the print job disappears. WEIRD!! :tazz: Yes, have checked cables, test print (which won't work) and every other step in troubleshooter.

4/ Internet Explorer will now not run using NIS 2005. and yes, the Windows firewall was disabled. I am now relying on Windows security (I have disabled NIS 2005 and turned on Windows) to be able to post this.

I have followed all preparation steps, except that Spybot would not update. I got error message: "Spybot update rejected !!!bad checksum!" (see below) I ran the old version anyway and have been unable to remove 3 from 12 new.net files.

Hello again,

It is not my intention to "bump" this topic, but it appears that I have been able to remedy the situation.

Fixed the Spybot problem by trying different mirrors for update download until one worked and ran it again. This time it was able to completely remove the New.net issue. Yippee!

Also ran the trendmicro scan, which picked up threats and was able to remove them automatically (which was not the case with the pandascan.

Printer problem was due to settings being lost in device manager on which tray to use??!!!!! SO WEIRD!!!

Now everything is running perfectly again. :tazz:

However to continue to have a nice clean system, I would still like opinion on HTJ log posted above, but no rush. I will watch for replies.

Cheers,

Racy.
