Hi. I'm looking to purchase a new hard drive for my Dell Dimension 5100 but I don't really know anything about hard drives or installing them so some help would be greatly appreciated!

I've been told by a few of my friends that this Maxtor drive is good; but would it work with my computer? And would I need to buy any paticular cables or anything?

Thanks for any help!

http://www1.us.dell....s=28&l=en&s=dfb <-- if this is your computer...then the specs say that it can hold up to a 250 gb sata drive...so that 300gb is probably too large for the bios to detect it immediately...they may eventually come out with a new bios update...but..don't know when...it would probably be a good idea to just stay under that limit...get a 200gb..or 250gb sata drive instead
