Hi all,,
Strange thing just started happening recently,,,

When i open,,,, lets say,,,,,,, my documents,, my pics or my computer,,,,, the window that appears is the size of cd case ( slightly bigger ).

Puzzled to why it wont open on a full page,, always has before !!!!
Its a pain having to expand the page using the mouse on the borders,, but this seems the only way to open a page full screen.

It only happening on xp pages,, ie/ google opens full page as does outlook and other software programs,, just seems to be all the xp " my " docs, music etc.....
If i manually expand a page,,, then go back to it 10 mins later,,,, it needs expanding again. WEIRD !

Have tried to look into the folder options to see if i can alter the default page size , but cannot see anything of any help. I am sure its just a simple case of ticking, or unticking a box somewhere in the settings.

Full norton , adaware and spybot scans are all clean.
Any ideas anyone,,,
cheers, kev.

usually...if you open one...and expand the thing (not by pressing the button at the top but by actually dragging the corners) to full size....then open another one...this one should open to full size..if it doesnt..close the first window that you resized..now resize the new one...and close it...now try to open it...come up in full size?

Hi Dsenette,,,
Thanks for reply,,,I have already tried what you have suggested,,,, works to start off with, but
go back to the page 10 mins later,,,,,its small again. Very weird !!!!!

The only time i have experienced this before was on a couple of occassions when
i have done a fresh instal of xp,, expanding the pages like you suggested was the answer, but for some reason it only stays full size for a few mins now ???
I havent done a fresh install recently either,,, it just started happening out of the blue.
Like i said in my first post,,, its only xp pages like " my music ", "my documents ", " my computer" etc,,,
Doesnt seem to affect IE or outlook or any other page i open.

Its not a major problem,,, its just really annoying, more so cos i know there will be a setting somewhere that needs a tick or something.
Cant for the life of me find the setting to change.
I will kick myself when i do find out,, i think its a case of "not seeing the wood for all the trees."

Close Everything

Open MY DOCUMENTS, double click the BLUE TITLE bar to expand to full screen.
Go to TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > VIEW, scroll down to REMEMBER EACH FOLDER'S VIEW SETTINGS, check it.

CLICK OK. OK.

Reopen MY DOCUMENTS, did it open ful screen? If yes, go to TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS click APPLY TO ALL FOLDERS, clic YES, CLICK OK.

Fix?

Hi gerry,,,
Many thanks for that,,,, problem seems to be solved.
Funny though,,,, when i went into the folder options,, the " remember each foldes settings " was already ticked << strange.
When i did the next step and applied to all folders,, it changed a few of my settings,, ie/ my music ,, list,,, my pics,,,, thumbnails,,,,,,,,,,,,, changed everything to a thumbnail on all pages.

Have just set them all back to the way i liked them,, re-started,,,,,, problem solved.

Cant understand why it was happening if the " remember " tick box was already ticked though ???.

wouldn't worry about it....I've run into that...seems the check box is stuck, but something altered the registry...of course, rebooting might throw it all to heck again.

Uncheck that box. OK > OK

Set folders the way you like (expand).

Close folders

Download, extract and double click the attach file
say yes to merge

reboot

Just done another reboot,,,

Problem is still here,,

I still have to expand,,
1/ my music
2/ my pics
3/ my documents
4/ my computer
5/ recycle bin.
These are the only pages that open up as a small box.
I have double clicked on the title bar of each one of them, to expand them. Gone into the folder options and made sure the box is ticked, and it is.
I have unchecked the box, then rechecked it,, apply,, ok,,,,
Each page opens up fully, but by the time i have opened and checked each of the listed pages,, i go back to 1 that was fine a minute ago ,,, and guess what,,,,,, its small again.

I am dumbfounded by this one !!!!!!!!!
