My computer has been acting crazy lately. My NIS is gone, everytime I try opening it it says my free trial has expired. My subsription does not run out till 8/06. Do I have to start from scratch or is there something else I can do?

Contact Symantec, if possible by phone to ask them about the registration key which is not being recognised by them

You could be lucky if you use add and remove to uninstall the live update part of NIS then getting a new copy
