CD Drive problem

Each time I open the cd drive fully it quickly closes. In order to put a cd in the drive, i have to hold it down.
Is this a hardware problem or something wrong with the pc?

This is usually the cdrom drive wearing out. Ive had new drives last for many years and a exact same type of drive last only a month. Some drives just dont seem to mesh their parts as good as others. Replace the drive with a cheap lite-on from newegg for around $14, or buy a lite-on cd-rw/dvd rom combo drive for around $30.
