Here's what I have:
Comp came as a prebuilt Sony Vaio PCV-RZ104.
I now have 1024MB RAM (the most my computer will allow, so I'm told)
I installed an nVidia GeForce 6800GT.
P4 2.8GHz.
150GB HD.

It's starting to feel a bit outdated in some ways, I'm not sure how well it would run Vista when that day comes. But it's mainly games I'm concerned about, and having just run 3dMark06 and not got any average framerates over 10fps, I don't think that bodes well.

The question is - do I bother to update any particular aspects of my machine, or save up and build my own; I'm sure the 6800 is good for a while so that's a large chunk or expenditure already done.

Advice? Thanks a lot.

Maybe a faster cpu, but i would save up and build a new system in 6 months or so when DX10 is out.
