Hello there Geeks,

I have a NEC International / Gigabyte GA-8SIMLNF motherboard and was wondering whether there are any updates available for the chipset or any bios updates? I dont know where to look for these things, please help!

I have tried going to the SIS website to look for chipset updates but they have nothing for the SIS645DX chipset

BIOS is american megatrends V1.0N 9/15/2003

I would also like t know whether i am able to overclock my chip for better gaming framerates and for better music production performance

The motherboard only has a 4X slot for my 6600GT and i cant help thinking that this is stunting my GPU's potential framerate as 4X only lets half as much data through as 8X, what do you thinks about this?

cheers, elred

Chipset drivers are usually generic to cover a whole range of chipsets as opposed to just a certain version.

The board may have an option in BIOS to set the AGP speed to 8x, its not uncommon to see things in BIOS being set to less than they're capable of.
