After I installed the 8.1 update for Netscape I now get the following:

Microsoft C++ runtime error
runtime error!

Program netscape.exe has asked to terminate in unusual manner, or something like that. If I click ok then it closes Netscape. If I reinstall back to 8.0 it works fine. Just was hoping to get the new version working because it has some good anti spyware and privacy tools.

do you have the google tool bar installed on IE, or for that matter, any other browser? Try removing it in add/remove and see if that occurs again

No toolbars installed on anything. That was the first thing I checked.

did you uininstall netscape, delete the c:\program files\netscape folder, then reinstall it?

Did all that, even went as far as doing a search and removed anything Netscape. Then reinstalled Netscape 8.1 and same problem persisted.

I think you are infected with a trojan (auserinit.exe)...please visit the malware forum.follow the instructions at the top and then get a clean bill of health.
