I have 2 WD Raptor 10,000 RPM drives in a RAID 0 configuration, whenever I do a task that makes the HD's speed up (like a car would idle fast), sometimes the HD's keep spinning fast after the task has completed and it's very annoying...I know I can goto the SETUP and change the "Hard Drive Acoustics Mode" to "Quiet Mode" and it will slow the drives down a litte.

MY QUESTION:

How much will the drives be slowed down and how can I test it?

There are programs, like bonnie (Linux) and Norton has a program to test the speed.

If the noise bothers you, then just change the setting and don't worry about it.
