Norton Antivirus problem

I installed the 2006 Norton Antivirus yesterday and it won't let me activate it. I click next to start the activation and another screen comes up and tells me to click next to continue but on it freezes up there. Just the hour glass is showing over it and I have to go to the task manager to get it off my screen. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem with this, any help would be great. Thanks.
