hardrive issue

thankyou, so i can just load linux and then use it to attempt to copy the files off of the bad hardrive? shoudl that hardrive be the only hardrive that is attatched or should i keep it as a slave on my comp with my other good drive?

Keep both drives in as otherwise you wont have anywhere to put the data would you. There is absolutley no guarantee it will work data recovery is not something that you can often do one of those shot in the dark kind of things. All you have to do is put the CD in the drive and it will boot from the CD drive. Like i said odds are against you but its worth a shot.
