Because of security cause I need to disable Windows update on a server with Windows 2003.

In addition, what should I restore or enable Windows update function if I want to update it every one week?

OK, I do not have a w2k3 server available to me at the moment, but check

start > run
gpedit.msc
<enter>

Navigate to
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Componants > Windows Update

Set CONFIGURE AUTOMATIC UPDATES to DISABLED

See if that is there....

You can then check by visiting WINDOWS UPDATE in your browser when you wish

the settings for automatic updates on a 2k3 server are in the same place as xp.... start > settings > control panel > automatic updates..just set the automatic updates to off....and if you want to turn them back on...do the same...but put them back to on
