ok, i got into the bios, there seems to be nothing here about a HD.
also its on code 75-Detect and install all IDE drives
Is SATA an IDE drive?

ok thats fine, i have to run for an hour or two. While im away, post the info about your drives (DVD roms, Hard disks etc), make sure the slave/master settings are spiffy. Hopefully someone else will help before im back

ok its all working, what OS you putting on it?

It deffinatly isnt working. There is a problem 2 tone siren comes in after about 2 mins.
It says diskboot failure, insert system disk and press enter... I cannot get past this screen I can go into bios though

yeah, what that means is "Holy crap. . . i have no operating system". The computer just needs Windows or Linux put on it.

How do i get it to boot from the cd?
For some reason iot did the first time started xp set up then it asked me to press enter but I was locked out
Now when i try to insert cd nothing happens

wierd....ok...your not using a USB keyboard are you? and make sure the boot options are set to boot from DVD first.

It seems to be loading XP ok now. Thankyou for all your advice and help I thought it would never work back there and there was barly anything wrong with it in the end boy does my name tell the story. Thanks so much im a very happy chappie.

I'll post what GFX card scores the highest FPS x850XT or 68gs xxx. Incase anyones interested. My moneys on the x850xt with its 520 core and it must be a beast if it needs that fing hover blower strapped to it <3

Hi, thanks for all the help i'm rly happy with my new pc now it works lol.
Im going to send back the 6800gs xxx and keep the X850XT because its about 5-10% faster
3d marks 2005 for the 68gs xxx = 5687
x850xt = 6075
cod2 fps rates the 850 gets about 5/10 more fps on highest specs
one funny thing i noticed was on the cod2 main menu GS was 650 on fraps and the XT was 850 so sicnificantly higher there for some reason.
quake 4 I was unable to test fps becase its capped at 60
Not sure which card is the best OCer
One point to note is the XT card is a fair but louder (sometimes) while the GS keeps nice a quiet although I did notice a couple of beeps from the stock GS while doing 3d marks 05, which I think means it wasn't running too cool (at least i think thats what they are)

Glad you got it going, the x850 is the faster card its the fastest card of the last generation of cards available so its pretty good, it uses a R480 core for reference as well R520 is the nexer core used on X1800s.
