Close all programs down, leaving only HijackThis running.

Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

C:\Documents and Settings\Christine\Application Data\urpo.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\SbCIe028.dll

Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin
Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

Reboot.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and we'll take another look. :tazz:

Thank you so much for the response but I'm stumped. At the point that I go into safe mode how do i view hiddden files and find the two c: files.

Hi again,

I'm sorry I haven't responded but I haven't been able to get my computer to work well enough to access this website and post this response. Now I think I have seen it all, shortcuts added to my desktop, something about Dr. Watson, pop-ups, highlighted words, non-responsive web pages ad nauseum. At any rate, may we start again, I have a new hi jack report to post and one other question. About the function "view hidden files" that is in safe mode, where is that? I started the computer in safe mode and on that black screen I didn't see anything that said that. Is it once I am back at the desktop in safe mode, I don't get it. Thank you, thank you.

You are getting to safe mode when you hit F8. Before you get into safe mode, follow the instructions presented with the underlined link.

Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold


Click on the view hidden files (where it's underlined). The link gives you directions on how to show all files.

Follow the previous directions I've already given. :tazz:
