the Kaersky thing is most confusing...it still isnt working...i am the administrtor, and IE setting are on default to medium.....it just does not want to download!

Good news the Norton has gone!!

Did my system info help you much?

ok, the system restores have been cleared and set as you asked.

I have checked for duplicate music files and there are not any, using the advanced searches.

I do have a lot of music tho, 2864 files in 253 folders.....4.94GB in size (lots of stuff from Black Grape to Wet Wet Wet!!)....does this seem like a reasonable size for this music...its on wma...is there a more compact way to store this?

The current disk usage is 7.78GB (of which 4.94GB is wma files).

That's about right, then...

Did my system info help you much?

Yeah, I really like those logs...about as comprehensive as they get. Looked over the system files for duplicates (none), had a look at the directory tree (looks good), drivers all look good, programs installed to the proper directories...it all looks pretty normal now. How's the machine running?

Have you had any more issues with NETWORKSERVICE.NT AUTHORITY?

We're down to the ActiveX issue then. Are you using Internet Explorer when doing this? I'm searching for additional settings and will get back to you on this shortly.

How's it going in Malware? Last I heard things were looking pretty good. The last HJT log I saw sure looked better than the first one! :tazz:

Hey there Wannabe1,

The machine is runng well, happy with performance.

Regards the music files....is any music storage/player going to redue size a lot? ie is it worth swapping to itunes or wma? or i am going to be aout this size, and thats it.

NETWORKSERVICE.NT AUTHORITY? has posed no more problems...they were deleted and have not returned...i will let you know if they do.

ActiveX issue....yes I am using internet explorer.

Regards the malware...I am on the cusp of a clean bill of health. :tazz:

Try installing THIS to test the ActiveX. (Macromedia Flash Player) Does it install?

When we get this ActiveX thing figured out, you'll have a clean bill or health from me, too. :tazz:

The space you'd save verses the file quality between wma and mp3...I'd keep the wma.

Let me know on the Flash Player...

Try this, too...

Turn off the pop-up blocker in IE. Under "Tools" in the toolbar.

Let's see if we can update the ActiveX controls...

Go to Control Panel and open Internet Options. Under the "General" tab, in the "Temperary Internet Files" section, click the "Settings" button. Click on the "View Objects" button. What Program Files are listed?

Have a look at This Info

I have three "Class" objects in the list...all marked as "Damaged" one of which is YinstStarter Class. This is on a recent clean install.
