the side of my case and touched my cpu while running and it felt
warm not even hot but just warm
put side back on it showed 55C so i rebooted my comp
and checked in bios real fast showed me 40C
hmm any thoughts of what might be going on?

58 is not an extreme temp...it's not great...but it's not horribly out of range...have you cleaned the fan? you may want to clean off any old thermal compound and reapply

DUDE its an AMD 64 BIT CPU of course is 58C bad
but why does my bios temp show lower temps then in programs
they show at least 20c higher and also 58C would make the heatsink hot to touch right?
well mine is just barly warm

That is hot for an AMD. Intel's will reach that and beyond, but AMD's are usually around 45C at load.

Well its a winnie which that wouldnt be too abnormal its the newer cores like venice and san diego that are super cool. Try updating your bios it could be a thermocouple failure.

yikes what i did was i took out my heatsink and my cpu was on the BODEM of it it riped out of the zif socket
and i looked at the bodem of my cpu YUP 1 whole row all bend pins so i grabbed a credit card and finally got
it to fit back in the zif socket.
Did i damaged my cpu? can i lose performance or anything ?
even tho i got it to fit back in the socket and got it to boot up
also i replayed artic silver 5 dont know if i used enough or not because my temps are still the same.

:) yikes!

Temp sensors are tricky. I myself could never figure out how hot my CPU was running.

I have my BIOS tell me about 60C(I hope it's wrong),
Sandra tells me it's around 48C(which is strange because I thought Sandra used the BIOS to get this? :tazz: ),
and my 3rd party external temp sensor says around 42C(which may be slighty low because I couldn't quite get the sensor to stay under the CPU).

I've never been able to get a clear answer.

i was just checking my tempature and MB5M showed 58C!!!

How exactly did you check your temp? Through BIOS? Through another program?
