Hi Everyone,

It's funny you never know about websites that are out here until you need them !

I have a problem and its driving me crazy. I have edited my original post as I have been following the recommended actions all day to get to the point where I can say I have actually tried everything !

- I have PC-Cillin Internet Security loaded permanently
- My Windows xp is always upto date as I have automatic downloads and it is on SP2
- I have the Trend Anti Spy loaded since yesterday
- Cleanup run and reoved significant no of files
- Ad-aware SE run and deleted 8 items
- CWShredder run and was clean
- Spybot run, removed a few items
- Trend Housecall run and removed 4 items starting ADW (why did this work when their venus spytrap didn't ?). Incidentally a file called ADW.adsearch is still picked up in a restore backup by PC-Cillin)
- Trojanhunter run and deleted one file

Here is my situation :
When using IE6 I am always getting another pop up window appearing that starts with the address
ad.admarketplace.net and its getting on my pip if you know what I mean !

I've tried allsorts, none of the pop up blockers work either so I am relying on you experts out there to help a novice like me understand what to delete when I show you this HJT log file. Here it is :

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below. Also if you have any programs that may prevent system changes (like Spybot's TeaTimer program, Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, and others), make sure you disable them before doing any of the fixes (or accept the changes for the fix we give you when asked by the programs).

Go to My Computer->Tools (or View)->Folder Options->View tab:
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders (it's Show all files for Windows 98).
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm and then click OK.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Make sure you downloaded, installed, updated and ran these programs (run in Safe Mode) already - Ad-aware, Spybot and Ewido (only if you have Windows 2000 or XP). If you didn't, do them now. For more information, go to http://www.greyknigh...com/spyware.htm

* Click on see report. Then click Save report.

Thanks for the reply Greyknight, I have resolved my problem though as a Guy on a UK site has helped me go through similar procedures to your advice.
I was a little impatient but I knew that your site was very busy, obviously so with so many posts.

It's great that sites like yours are out here otherwise those like me with little knowledge of the technical inner workings of the software side would be basically up the creek without a paddle.
