there are 3 media center services running
one of them has my dialup modem port locked
so my callerid program can't access it
had to use YAC a caller id program that can share the port
but i wanted to use my phone plus
but phone plus does not have a feature to enable modem sharing

i use high speed cable, so i wonder why it has my dialup modem
i can stop the one of the 3 services to unlock that port
would that screw up the media center?
i'm pretty sure it's for downloading tv scheduling
but that is done through my cable

any ideas?

Start Run
regedit
<enter>

navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion> Media Center > Service > UseTelephony

set the value of UseTelephony to zero by double clicking it and modifying
