dvd 16:9 to 4:3

right. i got a dvd ripped it with ImTOO and it ripped as 16:9. i want it 4:3 to fill up the screen on my ipod. i worked out if i crop up and down by 180 pixels on videora it makes the film 4:3 but theres one problem, the film gets strethced and it doesnt really look right. is there any way to make it 4:3 without it looking stretched?
