All of a sudden, a couple of my favorites websites would just give me the "cannot find server" window... I thought it was down, but it's not so I thought OH no- my grandkid was madly using my computer this weekend and madly getting music from WINMX too. Something happened, a worm, something??? Anyway- nada comes up with Ad aware and Norton AV... here is my HiJack this log- any sort of clue would be most helpful!!!

Hi Deb907,

Let's try this..

Download the Hoster Here

Unzip Hoster to your desktop

Open up the Hoster program.
  • Make sure that the "make hosts writable?" button in the upper right corner is enabled.
  • Click back up Host files
  • then click Restore orginal host files
  • close program
Then please post a new HijackThis log. Have the sites started to work?

THANKS so much!! I learn so much each time I run into glitches!!!

I thought- since other people can in, it could be that i'm being blocked!!

I borrowed the info from a friend with a different server than I, and logged in- BINGO- it's MY ISP number that is being blocked!!!!

I have to let the admin of the sites figure out why!!!!

THANKS again!!
