I can read CD's and DVD's, however, when I try to burn something it says either that there is no blank disc in the drive (I have tried several brands, and styles and know for a fact that they are blank) or it does everything (rendering etc.) but when it comes time to burn I get an error message. HELP!!!!

Now it says "Insert a writable disc to continue" and "there is no disc in the drive"
under that it says "Please insert a writable CD into drive E:\. Which is really irritating as I just unwraped and inserted a brand new CD-RW disc.

Here's a couple things you can try:
1. Install ASPI drivers. Windows ASPI drivers version v4.71.2 http://www.adaptec.c...=aspi_471a2.exe
Or, Force ASPI http://aspi.radified.com
2. Disable Windows XP burning software (control panel->administrative tools->services. There you find the service that is called "Imapi Burning Service". You first stop the service, then choose to disable it).
3. Enable DMA
4. See the HP troubleshooting guide
5. If none of these work, there's a very good chance you need a new drive.

I'm experiencing the same thing. This is actually going on in my entire domain. I set "Remove CD Burning Features" in group policy to disabled and not defined. I just acts like there is not a CD in the drive. I even bought a new drive and am getting the same results. Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks!
Thanks!
