Hey, Hello, and a Howdy to you! :P

I don't mean to be a pain in the butt :D over the little things, but this is annoying <_<

I am now getting a "VOICE :o ERROR" Message saying:

Your computers audio input is already in use by another application.

What application? :D

I don't listen to music, or the radio on here, nor have any downloaded...

But when chatting with my g-friend on mic, I get this message... It just started up today for some reason... :D

Could you please help this :D in figuring out how to fix this "itty bitty issue" that has become a pain in MY butt :D

Thanks again...

Are you still having this problem? What program are you using to chat using the mic?

Probably another program running in the background trying to use the same resource. A reboot probably cleared it.

Good morning :D

Well, got a question for you then <_< .... How do I :D stop having things running in the background that don't need to be running?

I tried that "Winpatrol" located on the home page of this site, but it REALLY bogged my puter down:blink: ...
So I had to get rid of it... Also after that is when I had that problem with those two missing files for my printer"'...

What do you think?
Thanks for you time hun....

Most of the programs running in the background are loaded at startup. Many aren't needed. Here's a new tool I recently found to help identify what's running, and what it's for:
http://www.windowsstartup.com/

Here's another link to the mother of all startup sites: <_<

Thanks so much for your help Admin,

I checked out those two sites, but worried about downloading more items on my puter.

And plus it states on the download, that some "bad" codes could be attached to that program during download...

But a GREAT BIG THANKS to you for all the help that you have given...

As soon as possible, I will be giving a donation....

"After I get a floor <_< in my kitchen" ...lol

NO, I don't have a kitchen floor... :D

Have a good one... :D

I'm sure those links only contains "safe" code, but I understand your hesitation. We can use another method.

Click the Hijack This link in my signature, scroll to the bottom and you'll see instructions for creating a StartupList. Follow the instructions and reply with the log created. We'll look at it and tell you what you can get rid of. <_<

Good Morning / Afternoon,

Thanks Admin, Here is the startup log...

I noticed on there that the WINPATROL is still showing... And a few others that I found...

MSN messenger, Shockwave Flash Object, 3-Symantec items, and a thingy from Yahoo about downloading games... "I don't download games, music, etc..."

I have Panda Virus Protection, so don't know why the Symantec is still there?

If you have any questions on any of items on the log... Please feel free to ask...
If I don't use it, I don't want it, If I don't need it, I don't want it...

I am so thankful of your help.... I just hope that the thorn has not grown? <_<

Thanks,
Staci

Hi Staci,

I don't see anything to be concerned about, or anything that will consume too many system resources.

I noticed on there that the WINPATROL is still showing

Did you remove it using Add/Remove Programs? I'd recommend first you try reinstalling, and then uninstalling it.

MSN messenger

To uninstall MSN messenger try this. Click the MSN Messenger icon in the taskbar, and then click Exit. Click the Windows Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. Select MSN Messenger from the list and click the Add/Remove button.

An alternative method. Click Start -> Run, enter the following and say yes when the dialog box pops up. Ensure that nothing is running (no open windows except that pertain to this action). Enter (or copy and paste) this in the "Run" dialog box: RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Shockwave Flash Object, 3-Symantec items, and a thingy from Yahoo about downloading games... "I don't download games, music, etc..."
I have Panda Virus Protection, so don't know why the Symantec is still there?

These are downloaded plugins that have been installed by Internet Explorer. There safe, small, and won't slow you computer down any, I'd recommend just leaving them alone. <_<

Hello again...

Yeah, I am a thorn, I feel myself growing into you... "So sorry"

But Yeah, I have uninstalled through "Add/Remove"

And I noticed that "MyWebsearch Smiley Central" is still there..

Remember, we went through "Highjack This" to remove it? I guess it did not remove...

And now that I tried it, it is saying:
Error loading C:\Progra~1\MyWEBS~1\BAR\1.BIN\mwsbar.dll
The system cannot find the path specified

And the msn messenger bit, well it is not in my Add/Remove Box, and when I tried the Run thingy, it did not work either...

I don't know... "Am I being my own worst problem here?" Am I acting like my mother?

OMG, I do hope not...

I just wanted my puter to run better... But if you say it is nothing to worry about, then I wont worry any longer...

At my first summer craft sale, I will make a nice donation...
Thanks

Have you installed all the Windows updates? http://www.windowsupdate.com

After all updates are installed you should have the option to remove MSN Messenger. If not, don't worry about it. <_< I'll bet 90% of Windows users have Messenger running, and it's doesn't use many resources.

The links to remove programs in your Add/Remove Programs don't work becasue the directory the uninstall was located in has been deleted. Again, don't worry about it. It takes editing the registry, or a third party program to remove them.

Please don't feel that you have to donate, but if you're able, it does help to pay our expenses. :D

We were glad we could help, and thanks you for your kind donation :D.

Congratulations! Your system is CLEAN <_<

If everything seems to be working okay you can delete the Hijack This folder.

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use).

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.
Link to SpywareBlaster: http://www.javacools...areblaster.html

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.
