I have noted the following error message when attempting to boot my toshiba pIII WinME laptop: " Please remove incompatible memory module from slot. "
I then depress the start button, the machine beeps 4 times and shuts off. I repeat this process perhaps half a dozen times and finally the machine boots as if nothing had ever been wrong. I have not replaced any memory, however I have used msconfig.exe and have heard that "memory leakage" can occur. What is memory leakage, and can it be reversed by rechecking all the boxes in msconfig.exe?
