I just recently purchased a Verizon phone with the music player(samsung sch
a-950). I bought the music essentials kit, which has the driver cd and usb
cable to transfer music to the phone from the pc. Unfortunately it doesnt
work. The phone will play music directly downloaded ( at $2.00 per song) but
it will not show up on the pc either in windows media player 10, which is
the only player that Verion clims will support it, or under my computer. I
tried the workaround suggested by Verizon tech support, Microsoft article
#911091 titled "A PlaysForSure device or another Windows Media Player
10-compatible media device does not appear in Windows Media Player 10 even
after the device appears to be installed correctly" But that does not solve
the problem. The Verizon tech said that it is a microsoft problem and I
would have to talk with their tech support.
I am hoping you can help me with this, I have tried this on several XP
machines with the same result, so I am sure I am not the only one
experiencing this.

I am running Windows XP service pack 2 with all the updates and media player
10. I have also tried it on a clean install of windows XP service pack 1
with no updates and not online, with the Verizon drivers and windows media
player 10 insatlled from the Verizon cd.

Thank you
Dan Dixon

Hello,

I'm not quite sure what the problem is. There seems to be two problems discribed. One... you can't transfer music from the phone to the PC, and two... the phone doesn't show up in MyComputer.

I'm not really here to solve your problem as I'm not familiar with your phone or software. However, I am going to point you to one of the best phone forums on-line... HowardForums

This forum will surely be able to answer any questions about your Samsung and how to get your mp3's going. Post either in the Samsung forum, or the Verizon Phone forum. Howards rocks big time! Good luck!
