hey all i recently clicked a link in a convo wiv a frend on msn this is the link http://ex-posed.net/n/funny3.scr i downloaded the program and ran it (stupid i know!! wont be doing that again) neways a few things have happened pc suddenly restarts now and then i can run any virus programs or install any. I couldnt run regedit or taskmanager although iv downloaded loads of programs and one of them appears to have brought them back and now iv jus realised theyre gone again so much for that . The main bug is that i cant go on hotmail or access my documents and many other folders winnt etc.. its not because theyre hidden i jus cant get to them. Any Ideas Would be great? Oh yea i cant run msconfig it says it cannot be found and when i search for it, its not there.

Whoa.....So your system is totally messed up. It sounds like the best thing to do would be a system restore. Do you remember when you installed this program? If so find a restore point that is before that so the program will get off your PC. Also that link you provided didn't work so I was just wondering which program it was.

I suspect a trojan of some sort that has taken over your shell. Here's a good trick around it.

Your start menu programs will likely still work

Access IE through that.

Download hijackthis, I know you cannot run it, yet

Go to notepad.

type the following line

hijackthis.exe

save it as runhj.bat in the same place you saved hijackthis.exe

Double click that.

Most trojans that prevent access to exe files and cause shell errors don't prevent running of scripts (mainly because such trojans rely on scripts) so even a batch file will work to run executables.
