OK now I am beginning to worry...its just hanging there saying Please Wait for the installation program to complete....Does it normally take this long to install?

I mean there are no lights flashing on my cpu to indicate any action and nothing on screen is changing.

Give it a few more minutes and it it doesn't complete, cancel out or stop the process using the Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Delete).

Try This Driver. Apparently there are some conflicts between ME and that version of drivers on SOME ASUS motherboards...yours appears to be one of them. It should install right over the top of the other drivers.

Good Morning Wannabe1...okie dokie...I am endeavouring to install this now....I'll edit once it completes...same as the other zip...its in the state of Please wait for the installation program to complete. :tazz:

I guess the question in my mind now is...why did this all happen in the first place?

Status>> Well....when I check my Device Manager in System Properties...all the yellow !'s remain the same...is there a way of telling whether the install went through as it should have?

oK...I tried something different...I unzipped it into a file....and then ran the setup...rebooting now to see if that made a difference

ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE.

Would you please go to Device Manager and double click on the USB controller marked with the ! and get the error it lists in the "Device Status" area?

Is this an add on USB card or is it the integrated USB?

Heyy there...okies...

Firstly...! VIA Tech 3038 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller

Device Status

This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have all the drivers installed.
(Code 10.)

Try upgrading the device drivers for this device.

Then below, to the left is a button that says Update Driver

When I click on that, this is the option I took:

(Recommended) Automatic Search for a better driver

(the other option being Specify the location of the driver (advanced)

so thennnn....it searches and says...

The best driver Windows found is already installed for this de vice. Click back to install a different driver or click "finish" to continue using this driver.

To the best of my recollection...my computer came with the standard two usb ports and we added 3 more for the scanner and the camera....

And which port are you connecting the mouse to? Have you tried switching from the integrated ports to the add on ports...or vise versa?

Just as an FYI...When I check the properties on all the yellow "!"...this is what it says

! LOGITECH-COMPATIBLE MOUSE PS/2

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the file (vmouse.VXD) that loads the drivers for the device (Code8)
To fix this problem, run Windows Setup again using your Windows CD-ROM.

! OTHER LOGITECH MOUSE PS/2

Same message as above.

! PS/2 COMPATIBLE MOUSE PORT

Same message as above.
